So as I had written earlier, I was planning on living in student housing called “The Colony” this fall/winter semester rotation, in spite of the poor management, higher rent, and scarce living space. Well, I was willing to look past all that, willing to forgive them for their random and unannounced inspections of my apartment every two weeks the last time I lived there… but then they called me up a couple days ago and told me that they were “cancelling” my contract.
The only thing that kept me from exploding was the fact that they were willing to refund me my security deposit, plus $50. It was broad, unfounded blanket sweeps such as this that led me to despise the Colony while I lived there. What’s the moral of the story? Avoid living in apartment complexes run by FASCISTS. Now I’m left to find an apartment for fall/winter after most of the good ones have already been filled up. Oh well, at least I scored a cool $50 out of the deal, right?
